Larsen & Toubro Mindtree (LTIMindtree / LTM), a global IT services and digital solutions firm, deployed RAIma — an in-house AI-powered HR companion — across its workforce of more than 86,000 employees in 41 countries. RAIma provides a single conversational interface spanning the full employee lifecycle: talent acquisition, onboarding, learning and development, performance management, employee engagement, retention, and offboarding. The platform was built on Azure OpenAI Service and Microsoft AI Foundry, integrated with the company's existing HR systems including SAP SuccessFactors, ServiceNow, SAP Concur, RippleHire, Boomi, and SkillPrism, plus several in-house custom applications. The project ran from December 2024 to June 2025 with a 16,000 man-hour build effort, led on the customer side by Swapnil Deshpande, Global Head of Enterprise Systems at LTM. RAIma's six functional modules: - Talent acquisition: auto-generates job descriptions, manages candidate outreach, and runs interviews via the Berribot Mastermind assessment tool - Onboarding: avatar-based induction, buddy matchmaking, sentiment checks, and feedback surveys across the first 45 days - Learning and development: AI-recommended training paths; 90% of associates trained in GenAI through hackathons, mentorship, and GenAI literacy modules - Performance management: AI-recommended objectives aligned with job family and past performance; 60% improvement in goal-setting effectiveness via continuous nudges - Employee engagement and retention: 24/7 conversational HR support, reduced wait times for leave, benefits, and policy queries - Proactive engagement: pulse surveys, sentiment-aware nudges, and early morale flagging routed back to HR teams First-quarter results (post-launch): - 97,000 prompts handled (13% transactional, 86% FAQ-related) - 75% satisfaction rate (thumbs-up) - 90% of associates trained in GenAI - 60% improvement in goal-setting effectiveness The team is migrating RAIma features onto Microsoft Copilot Studio, with ongoing work on API redesign, voice enablement, and cross-agent orchestration.
