With more than 10,500 beds across the hospitals, the sheer volume of data required for a comprehensive handover meant nurses routinely added an extra 90 minutes to their shifts for both creating and receiving these reports. The Manipal-Google Cloud deployment synthesizes patient condition and care plan information from the EHR into structured, accurate handover summaries, improving efficiency, safety, and consistency across the 37-hospital network. The deployment is consistent with Manipal's ongoing technology investment to deliver clinical excellence and patient-centric care at scale, with future directions including expansion to additional clinical workflows and integration with additional Google Cloud AI services.
