IFS and 1X Partner to Industrialize Humanoid Robots Inside IFS.ai Operations

IFS and 1X Technologies announced a strategic partnership at IFS's Industrial X Unleashed event in New York on 13 November 2025 to industrialize humanoid robotics for asset-intensive industries. The plan combines 1X's humanoid robots with IFS.ai, the AI layer of IFS's industrial software, so that robots operate inside the same enterprise processes that schedule and track human work. "This isn't about adding robotics as a feature, it's about embedding intelligence in context," said Christian Pedersen, Chief Product Officer at IFS. Jorge Milburn, EVP Sales & Operations at 1X, said the integration means robots "understand operational context, adapt to changing conditions, and deliver data that drives better decisions across the enterprise." IFS frames the partnership around industrial labour shortages, citing about 1 million open jobs in the U.S., half of them in manufacturing. Its model is a workforce of human experts, AI agents running diagnostics and workflows, and robots inspecting assets and handling hazardous work, all scheduled and governed from one platform. Data from the robots is meant to flow back into IFS.ai in real time, closing the loop between physical execution and business decisions. The two companies will work with select customers to validate solutions in four areas: smart-factory automation, IoT-enabled robots that feed operational data into IFS.ai, field service that pairs robotic hardware with maintenance orchestration, and vertical uses from warehousing and aviation MRO to utility maintenance. The work builds on IFS's Nexus Black innovation accelerator and its acquisitions of TheLoops and 7Bridges. The integrated solutions are to be shown to IFS customers globally, with commercial availability planned for 2026. No customer site or measured result had been announced at the time of the release.
