Eden Prairie Schools, a K-12 district in Minnesota serving about 9,000 students, deployed MagicSchool’s AI platform district-wide starting in early 2024 and grew adoption to more than 125 educators trained through formal professional learning. MagicSchool’s deployment at Eden Prairie began with secondary teachers in February 2024 and expanded to elementary teams in April 2024, ahead of a districtwide rollout the following summer. The platform’s educator-first design — built by teachers for teachers with strong privacy and accessibility controls — was a deciding factor for Instructional Coordinator Erin Schiller’s team. The summer professional learning series engaged more than 125 educators before the 2024-25 school year. Operationally, Eden Prairie used a phased rollout model: small pilot → curiosity sessions → pilot expansion → districtwide rollout, with structured professional development at each step. The MagicStudent train-the-trainer program, the first of its kind for MagicSchool, was designed to give teachers the confidence to support student AI use safely. The district’s pre-deployment survey showed teachers wanted help with lesson planning, grading, and communication — all areas where MagicSchool’s tools delivered immediate time savings. Future direction, per the case study, includes continued expansion of MagicStudent usage into more subject areas, deeper measurement of impact on student writing and feedback cycles, and Eden Prairie sharing its train-the-trainer model with peer districts through MagicSchool’s K-12 community of practice.
