DSV Deploys Singapore's First 5G-Enabled Warehouse Digital Twin with Sub-11ms Latency

DSV, a global leader in supply chain management and logistics, has deployed Singapore's first 5G-enabled Warehouse Digital Twin at its Red Lion facility, supported by IMDA's 5G Innovation Programme. The 5G network enables real-time monitoring, analysis, and optimization of warehouse operations with latency as low as 11 milliseconds, supporting advanced technologies including Digital Twins, Computer Vision, and Augmented Reality. The Digital Twin provides a real-time synchronized virtual representation of the physical warehouse, allowing operators to monitor operations, analyze performance, and optimize workflows from a centralized dashboard. The system addresses the traditional challenge of requiring time-consuming on-site field visits for operational monitoring, replacing them with real-time digital visibility. DSV has implemented three groundbreaking 5G-enabled innovations at the facility. First, real-time Digital Twin visualization provides a synchronized virtual representation of warehouse operations that updates continuously. Second, Computer Vision-powered monitoring enables automated tracking of inventory movement and storage conditions without manual scanning. Third, Augmented Reality tools support warehouse staff in locating items and navigating optimized picking routes. The system enables operators to drill down into any aspect of warehouse operations in real-time, from individual item locations to aggregate throughput metrics, without physical presence in the facility.
