AI Factory Austria - EuroHPC Leonardo Access for Zenta Solutions

AI Factory Austria AI:AT has realised the first successful practical example of its support approach with the Viennese technology company Zenta Solutions. As the national contact point for high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI), it supported the company's smooth access to European supercomputing resources. The AI Factory Austria is part of the European AI Factories initiative, supported by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking and the Horizon Europe programme. Zenta Solutions, a spin-off from the Medical University of Vienna specialising in medical data analysis, is the first company to successfully implement access to the Leonardo EuroHPC system in Bologna, Italy, with the help of AI Factory Austria. AI-based processes for structuring and analysing medical data sets are currently being tested and optimised there. The process involves complete anonymisation of data, followed by analysis, contextualisation and conversion into structured form using image-based AI models and large language models. This turns previously unstructured health data into valuable information for applications such as predicting treatment response. Zenta focuses on open source models that can be used entirely locally, ensuring sensitive health data remains on site at all times.
