The Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia has partnered with Amplifai Health to pilot Thermal Foot Scan, an AI-powered diabetic foot screening system using computer vision and large language models. The system interprets thermal patterns of patients' feet and generates clinical risk scores in under 1 minute, enabling nurses to conduct AI-assisted screenings that bridge the podiatry workforce gap. The deployment allows specialists to focus on high-risk cases while increasing screening capacity by up to 12x without expanding specialist headcount. Early results show nearly 80% lower treatment costs, demonstrating a shift from reactive care to scalable, preventive models that support Saudi Arabia's vision for equitable, technology-enabled healthcare, including deployment in remote and resource-constrained settings. The Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia and Amplifai Health are part of the World Economic Forum's MINDS (Meaningful, Intelligent, Novel, Deployable Solutions) second cohort, selected for demonstrating how AI can deliver measurable impact while ensuring sustainability, inclusivity, and operational resilience. The cohort brings together 15 additional global industry cases from the first 18-cohort unveiled at the Annual Meeting of New Champions 2025 in Hangzhou, China.
