Deutsche Telekom has opened Germanys first AI factory for industry at its Munich campus, in partnership with SupplyOn AG. The facility will serve as a model for AI-driven manufacturing across Germanys industrial base, with the aim to bring AI-based process optimization to small and medium-sized enterprises across the country. The AI factory is equipped with approximately 10,000 NVIDIA GPUs, making it one of the most powerful AI computing infrastructure dedicated to industrial applications in Europe. By combining edge computing, 5G networks and AI-powered analytics, the factory enables real-time quality control, predictive maintenance and autonomous decision-making on the factory floor. The system integrates data from hundreds of sensors and machines, creating a digital twin that continuously improves production efficiency. Early results show a 23% reduction in quality control time and 18% improvement in first-pass yield. The AI factory concept represents a significant step forward in making advanced manufacturing technologies accessible to the broader German industrial ecosystem, particularly for companies that lack the resources to build such infrastructure independently.
