Huaxiang's Flange Factory Inspects Every Part With In-House AI Vision That Also Adjusts Upstream Machine Tools

At the flange factory in Huaxiang's (Hongtong) intelligent technology industrial park in Shanxi Province, hundreds of types of precision parts pass through AI vision inspection equipment, which completes image capture, defect identification and quality grading within milliseconds, giving 100% online inspection, Shanghai Securities News reported in July 2026. The inspection technology comes from Shanghai Shenzhichuang Vision Technology, a subsidiary of Huaxiang. Using Huawei Ascend computing and its own algorithms, the team raised inspection efficiency at the flange factory 12-fold with accuracy above 99.9%, supporting Huaxiang's goal of zero-defect production. Li Honggang, general manager of Shanxi Shenzhichuang, said traditional manual inspection depended heavily on workers' experience, was subjective and inconsistent, and left no inspection data to trace defective parts back to their cause, which kept scrap costs high. The system also controls machine tools in reverse. When it detects that a part's dimensions or deformation are approaching the tolerance limit, it automatically sends a compensation signal to the upstream machine tool to fine-tune machining parameters, narrowing variation at the source. Li described the inspection equipment as the factory's eyes and the AI algorithms as its brain. Jia Li, chief executive of Shanghai Shenzhichuang Vision, said that since the equipment went live at the Huaxiang factory it has cut labour and management costs, improved consistency and lowered the scrap rate, and that each one-percentage-point reduction in scrap saves the factory 60 million yuan a year, so the equipment pays for itself quickly. He added that every inspection becomes traceable, structured data that can be used to keep improving production processes.
