Suzhou Universal, a China-based precision component manufacturer, faced growing complexity as its production systems scaled. To address these challenges, Suzhou Universal partnered with X-POWER to implement an Agentic AI Platform built on IBM watsonx Orchestrate. The platform integrates core enterprise systems into a unified data foundation, accessible through natural language interaction. Two key scenarios were implemented: Intelligent Quality Inquiry Agent: Aggregates quality and production data for real-time monitoring, automated defect analysis and trend identification. Users can instantly query production quality, identify top defect types and uncover root causes. Production Scheduling Agent: Enables scheduling teams to use natural language to query, adjust and optimize production plans. A built-in validation workflow tests all changes in a secure draft environment before execution. Results achieved: Cross-system queries: from 30 minutes to seconds (90% faster) Automated data analysis: from 30 minutes to under a minute (98% faster) Root cause analysis accuracy: improved by 60% Scheduling efficiency: boosted by over 30% Manual scheduling errors: reduced by 70% The platform provides a scalable foundation for future innovation in intelligent, data-driven manufacturing operations.
