Title
CONVERGE Platform - AI for Rare Neurodegenerative Disease Target Discovery
Content
Verge Genomics deployed its CONVERGE AI platform for AI-enabled drug discovery in a collaboration with Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease, focused on rare neurodegenerative and neuromuscular diseases. Under the four-year agreement worth up to 42 million dollars upfront and with potential total deal value of 840 million dollars plus royalties, Verge applies its all-in-human approach combining proprietary multi-omic patient tissue datasets with machine learning to identify novel drug targets with higher clinical success probability. Unlike traditional approaches using cell or animal models, CONVERGE is based on genomic datasets derived directly from human tissue coupled with a human-centered biology platform. The approach has been validated through successful advancement of Verge lead program in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
