Terray Therapeutics Launches EMMI, Pairing 13 Billion Microarray Measurements with COATI and TerraBind Models for Small-Molecule Discovery

Terray Therapeutics introduced EMMI in November 2025, an integrated drug discovery platform that pairs ultra-dense microarray experimentation with a full AI stack used daily across its discovery programmes, BiopharmaTrend reported. Terray's microarray system has generated more than 13 billion proprietary compound-target measurements and adds roughly 1 billion a quarter; the data support its internal immunology programmes and partnerships with Calico, Bristol Myers Squibb, Gilead and Odyssey Therapeutics. At the centre is COATI, a molecular foundation model trained on more than one billion molecular structures. It uses contrastive learning to link SMILES strings, 2D graphs and 3D conformers through an invertible mapping, so the system can both understand molecules and generate new ones with desired properties; the latest version, COATI3, produces a 768-dimensional representation. Training is run on NVIDIA DGX Cloud, and the framework is open-sourced on Terray's GitHub. Generative models based on latent diffusion and reinforcement learning propose molecules that balance potency, stability and synthetic accessibility. Predictive models then rank candidates: the TerraBind potency model, drawing on the measurement database, screens first with an ultra-fast model and then with a detailed structure-based model, and further tools estimate solubility, permeability, metabolism and clearance. The main new component is EMMI Select, which pairs epistemic neural networks with an Expected Maximum acquisition function to quantify the uncertainty of TerraBind's predictions and guide which molecules to make, since chemists can synthesise only a limited number each week. Terray says the approach aims to triple efficiency in potency optimisation cycles compared with conventional methods, and it plans to extend it to multi-objective decisions covering ADME properties, synthesis cost and assay time. In December 2025 Terray reported a discovery milestone in its multi-target collaboration with Bristol Myers Squibb, which it linked to its use of EMMI.
