Goldman Sachs is scaling AI deployment across its investment banking and trading operations, with 2025 being a pivotal year for enterprise-wide adoption. COO of core engineering Belinda Neal described the strategy as a multi-pronged approach: building the in-house GS AI Platform as a foundation for AI applications, partnering with major technology companies for deployment at scale, and embedding security and governance as foundational guardrails. A key enabler is the creation of AI champions within each business group, employees tasked with identifying the most effective AI use cases for their line of business. These champions form the connective tissue across the firm and are critical to driving adoption and realizing highest value from AI investments. Neal noted that generative AI has delivered efficiency and productivity benefits across the firm, and PYMNTS survey data shows 57% of information sector firms report very positive ROI from GenAI deployments.
