Deepdub AI Dubbing Powers First Theatrical Film Premier at a Film Festival, Partnering with Paramount
Content
Deepdub, a Hollywood-grade AI-powered localization platform, achieved a milestone when the Polish psychological thriller SWARM became the first AI-dubbed theatrical feature ever shown at a film festival, premiering at the Cinequest Film & Creativity Festival in San Jose, California. SWARM was financed by over 300 individual investors through crowd-funding, making affordable English-language dubbing critical. With only four characters, each dubbed voice needed to be consistent and high-quality across the Polish-to-English localization. Deepdub's voice guide technology maintained the original's authenticity and emotional resonance, with the producers noting: "Deepdub's tech truly brought our characters to life, ensuring their voices were spot-on in our four-character film. This breakthrough elevated the viewing experience, preserving our artistic vision and made our movie globally accessible." Beyond SWARM, Deepdub's platform powers localization for major studios including Paramount. Ananey Studios, Paramount's Tel Aviv-based Israeli content unit, uses Deepdub GO, the company's virtual AI studio running on AWS Amplify, to localize Israeli-produced content for global distribution across 130+ languages and dialects. Ariel Baril, Paramount's VP of Technology for Southern Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, highlighted that AI localization enables early production of multilingual trailers for smaller-budget titles, attracting international distributors before full production is complete. Founded in 2020, Deepdub uses proprietary technologies including eTTS (enhanced Text-to-Speech), Voice-to-Voice matching, and accent control. Its API delivers enterprise-grade AI audio at scale, preserving emotional performances across sensitive dialogues.
