Opportunity International's UlangiziAI Gives Malawian Farmers Advice in Chichewa and English via WhatsApp
Opportunity International and Gooey.AI built UlangiziAI, a WhatsApp chatbot that answers Malawian farmers' text, voice and photo questions in English or Chichewa. A RAG pipeline grounds its answers in the Ministry of Agriculture's 450-page production guide, with citations. In a three-month pilot it fielded more than 4,000 questions, cutting the wait for guidance from days to seconds.
